This website is to facilitate the Board of Trustees elections for Bankmed for the year 2024. The election is managed and overseen by BDO, an independent service provider, who has been appointed by Bankmed to manage the election as the Independent Electoral Body (IEB).
The online voting portal will be opened on Friday, 03 May 2024 at 12:00 (noon) and will automatically shut down on Monday, 3 June 2024 at 12:00 (noon).
Principal Members who are in good standing with the Scheme will be eligible to vote.
A Principal Member is the primary Bankmed policy holder. A Principal Member may be a member on their own or may have dependants linked to their Plan. The dependants are not eligible to vote.
A Principal Member in good standing pertains to membership contributions being up to date.
Since 2017, election of Trustees takes place prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and all Principal Members in good standing have an opportunity to vote. Bankmed will only be using electronic voting methods.
The primary voting medium is the online voting platform. Text (USSD) voting will also be made available. Communications related to the text voting options will be communicated by Bankmed.
To vote online, Principal Members need to have their medical aid number (on your card) and your RSA ID Number/(Passport if you do not have an RSA ID), and follow these steps.
You will be required to verify that you are a Bankmed member. Provide your medical aid number (on your card) and your RSA ID Number/Passport Number (if you do not have an RSA ID).
Review the candidates and click “Vote” to vote for your selected candidates.
Please Note: You will only be allowed 1 opportunity to vote and you may vote for a maximum of two candidates. If you wish to vote for more than 1 candidate then you must do so on the first attempt.
The election results will be announced at the Bankmed AGM that will be held on Thursday, 27 June 2024 from 17:00 via a virtual platform. The newly-elected Trustees will take office with effect from that date.
